Bostik Car Silicone 280ml

Bostik Car is a black, one-part acetoxy-curing high-quality silicone sealant that provides a permanent flexible, durable, watertight seal for inside, outside and underneath the car. The sealant is extremely resistant to UV radiation, weathering, ageing and water, offers excellent chemical resistance, and is unaffected by alcohols, diluted acids, alkalis and detergents. Excellent for sealing joints, gaps and cracks inside, outside and underneath the car, such as sealing leaking window joints and water hoses, low-temperature gasket applications and replacing windscreens. Also ideal for sealing, bonding and mending DIY tasks around the house where a black colour sealant is required.

Usage

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of any dust, grease and loose materials. Use masking tape to get a clean, even sealant line and to eliminate cleaning difficulties on porous surfaces. Remove tape before sealant skins. Cut tip off cartridge and screw the nozzle onto the cartridge. Cut the tip of the nozzle at an angle to achieve the desired bead size. Apply silicone with a caulking gun in a continuous bead to the prepared joint. Remove unwanted silicone immediately. Smooth down after application (within 3-5 minutes) before skin formation occurs, by using a flat or rounded tool. Sealant dries to touch in 1 hour and reaches full cure after approx. 24 hours. After Use: Uncured silicone can be removed from hands or tools using turpentine or paraffin. Fully cured, silicone can be removed by mechanical means, i.e. with a sharp knife or chemically, with Bostik Silicone Stripper.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place.

Warnings

Not suitable for some metals and alkaline surfaces such as concrete, fibrous cement, asbestos, plaster and marble, as the product releases acetic acid during curing. Cannot be painted. Not suitable for fish tanks as it contains a fungicide. Wearing gloves is recommended. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In the event of contamination, rinse thoroughly with cold water and seek medical attention if irritation or discomfort persists. Keep out of reach of children. Test product on a sample area for suitability. As this products used outside our control, we cannot accept liability for damages
